Melissa Stark is a Managing Director at Accenture with 25 years of experience in the energy and utilities industry focusing on R&D/technology, investment and decision support and supply chain.

Melissa is Accenture’s Global Lead for Renewables focusing on wind, solar, storage and renewable gas. She has authored more than 40 papers and articles over the last 10 years. Her next paper, “Lighting the path- the next stage in solar development”, will be released in April 2019.

Melissa has a MBA in Transportation from Northwestern University and a BSc in Finance from the University of California at Berkeley. Melissa served as Assistant Chair of Technology for the US National Petroleum Council study, Advancing Technology for America’s Transportation Future. She is a Fellow of the U.K. Energy Institute.

Conor McKenna is a Senior Managing Director in CohnReznick Capital’s New York office. One of the earliest members of the firm, Conor focuses on M&A, corporate capital raising, and structuring, negotiating and financing tax equity and debt investments. Conor’s renewable energy expertise was honed over a decade working with strategic, infrastructure and financial service institutions. He has a strong relationship network and is adept at creating unique financing structures for energy companies, developers and power producers.

Prior to joining CohnReznick Capital, Conor worked in the Renewable Energy Structured Finance Group at Evolution Markets, focusing primarily on Renewable Energy Credits and Bundled PPA’s. He was previously a member of EcoSecurities’ investment team, where he helped manage large carbon project portfolios.

Don joined Goldman Sachs in 2018 as VP of O&M. Prior to joining the firm, Don served as VP of Operations & Maintenance at Cypress Creek Renewables 2015-2018. At Cypress Creek, Don led the O&M group for a portfolio of approximately 2.5GW and over 250 solar PV assets in North America. His responsibilities included staffing and training a nationwide team of electricians and engineers, construction and commissioning of a NERC Registered NOC, creation of aerial IR program, production forecasting, process standardization and improvement as well as supporting third-party owners, contract negotiations, subcontractors, and budgeting. When Don joined Cypress Creek, O&M was being subcontracted and in 3 years he built a team of over 80 employees and standardized national operations. Prior to Cypress Creek, Don worked at Clean Energy Collective as O&M Manager and prior to that spent several years as a PV Engineer at RGS Energy. Laura E. Stern is the Co-founder and President of Nautilus Solar Energy, LLC. With over twenty years of project finance and power industry experience, Ms. Stern has sourced, structured and executed over $3 billion of power, energy and infrastructure investments. At BayernLB, she specialized in originating and structuring renewable energy debt financings, primarily in the wind sector. As a founding member of GMAC's project finance group, Ms. Stern sourced and closed senior debt financings for greenfield power development and acquisitions of distressed assets. Prior to that at CIBC, she structured and syndicated leveraged loans in the power sector as well as gaming and telecommunications. Ms. Stern began her career as a consultant with Price Waterhouse, advising the Philippine Government on the privatization of its power, water and wastewater sectors. She holds an AB with honors from Harvard University and a MA from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. Ms. Stern was named one of the “Best 50 Women in Business” by NJ Biz in 2010 and is a frequent speaker at renewable energy and finance conferences. She was a founding Board Member of SunSpec Alliance. She has been an Elected Director on the SEIA Board since January 2014, serving on the Finance Committee, Treasurer on the Executive Committee and as Vice-Chair of the Federal Policy Committee. Hugh Kuhn has more than 30 years of business and engineering experience. He is a seasoned solar executive who has worked on projects involving over 100 distinct solar arrays – ranging from 250kW rooftop systems to 250MW ground-mount projects. He has managed teams responsible for the ongoing operations of portfolios of hundreds of C&I projects, as well as worked closely with clients owning multiple utility-scale arrays. He has seen firsthand the good, the bad and the ugly of the PV world. In 2009-10 Hugh led a collaborative effort to establish the “Thresher Test”, a series of de facto PV module chamber tests to help investors gain comfort in the long-term reliability and durability of modules. This catalyzing effort has evolved within NREL (PV Quality Assurance Task Force, PVQAT) and related work within the IEC. Mr. Kuhn currently works independently consulting with developers, investors and owners of solar assets. Hugh is also a Board Member of REIG (Renewable Energy Infrastructure Group, the holding company for 3 independent entities Power Factors, MaxGen Energy Services and World Wind and Solar).

Jason Raymond has accumulated 5 years of experience in Solar Asset Management. In his current position Jason oversees the Asset Management of solar plants in the Western USA portfolio, and he works with the O&M teams as well as in-house engineers to optimize each plant in order to maximize return on investment. Jason continues to work on Solar Re-power and finding new life in older, underperforming Generators.

Starting in the Solar Industry as a Land Manager, Jason secured multiple land contracts for upcoming projects. In order to provide accurate reporting and returns to Investors, Jason established Asset Management processes and procedures that has resulted in greater investor confidence. While continuing his Asset Management role, Jason took on the additional responsibility of becoming a Project Supervisor with the construction teams and became the CAISO NRI and Telecom specialist. Jason then moved into the Plant Operations Manager roll to oversee all operational projects and help the transition from construction into operations. Jason has quickly become well rounded from all the different positions and aspects he’s overseen, giving him a broad perspective into the potential of solar projects and the solar industry as a whole.

Mr. Hanawalt has worked in the independent power industry since its birth in the early 1980's. Over the past thirty years, has developed a deep set of operational & management skills including start-up engineering, performance engineering, operations management, and asset optimization.
Steve started his career as an engineer with International Power Technology. Recognizing personal computing technology allowed engineers for the first time to automatically acquire and process realtime plant data, he founded Power Factors Incorporated in 1986 to provide plant performance analytic services to the power industry. Steve successfully ran Power Factors as CEO for 12 years before being recruited by Calpine in 1999 to develop its Plant Optimization business unit. Steve developed and led the group for 7 years where his team was responsible for optimizing the thermal and economic performance of Calpine’s 25,000 MW portfolio of combined cycle power plants.
In 2007, Steve left Calpine to join SunPower Corporation as Global Vice President of O&M where he had responsibility for commissioning and managing the largest fleet of solar photovoltaic power plants in the world at the time. Recognizing the solar industry needed an independent monitoring and asset management software platform, Steve left SunPower in January of 2012 to form Power Factors LLC with two additional partners.
Steve is an Executive Vice President at Power Factors where he works with customers to ensure their successful use of the Power Factors’ SaaS solution which is now monitoring over 20 GW of solar and wind power projects around the world.

Vishal Punamiya is CEO of Sitemark. He oversees the overall commercial and product strategy for Sitemark’s Aerial Data Platform. Sitemark enables enterprises to deploy drones and aerial data at scale while enabling their digital transformation strategy.

Sitemark is used today to monitor +1400 PV sites across +30 countries by asset owners, operators and EPCs during pre-construction, engineering and construction phase, COD, EPC-O&M handover, annual inspections, purchase or sale among other stages in the life of a PV asset.

Thorsten Hoefer is the Product Manager for Utility Repowering at SMA America, the U.S. based subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG, headquartered in Germany. Before joining SMA America in Rocklin in 2018, Hoefer began his SMA career in the U.K. service department in 2015. Mr. Matt Murphy is the Vice President of Fleet Management for Greenbacker Renewable Energy where he is responsible for day to day operations and maintenance, fleet performance, and technical due diligence. In his current position Matt oversees a portfolio of over 200MW of residential solar, commercial and utility solar, and wind power plants across 18 States. During his time at Greenbacker he has been instrumental in building systems and processes to enable the successful rapid growth of the Greenbacker fleet. Previously Mr. Murphy was Director of Operations & Maintenance for Borrego Solar where he oversaw a fleet of 500 Megawatts of solar power plants across 11 states. Matt managed a national O&M team and was responsible for the highest level of escalation within the department. On a daily basis he ensured that each region was performing optimally. He also served as the department’s data & communications technical expert. Previously, Matt was the East Coast O&M Manager for Borrego Solar, where he oversaw the East Coast fleet as it grew from five to fifty megawatts. Matt’s specialties included data and electrical troubleshooting, lean management implementation, risk mitigation, insurance claim management, data analysis, and CMMS infrastructure build out. Prior to joining Borrego Solar, he worked for five years at the Vermont-based electrical contracting company Peck Electric, where he was instrumental in creating and running Peck’s solar PV division (now in the top 30 solar installers in the country) and was responsible for every job function from sales to system commissioning. While at Peck, Matt oversaw the design, development, construction, and maintenance of over 5 MW of solar PV capacity. Matt also has five years of experience teaching PV construction and troubleshooting to electricians at the Vermont NJATC training center, where he prepared students for the NABCEP certification test. In 2017 he accepted a position with MaxGen as their Vice President of Business Development where he helped to grow MaxGen to the 3rd largest O&M company in the United States. In 2018 he left MaxGen and Co-founded Renu Robotics, which focuses on automation of ancillary services such as vegetation management and panel washing and continues to serve as their Chairman. In September of 2018 he was recruited by Origis Energy to start up their Energy Services business unit, and launched Origis Services, LLC, in 2019 as it’s Managing Director. Dr. Arathi Gopinath is the Global Asset Performance Manager for NEXTracker. In his role, she and her team use sophisticated data science methodologies to maximize tracker utilization and performance. Prior to NEXTracker, Dr. Gopinath led the R&D team at Energy Recovery Inc. As the Sr. Director of Engineering, she led technology development projects that would expand the capabilities of energy recovery technologies for new applications. After her Ph.D. in 2007, Dr. Gopinath started her career as a research scientist at GE Global Research in Niskayuna, NY. At GE, Dr. Gopinath worked on a diverse number of applications including jet engine, gas turbine, and wind turbine design. Dr. Gopinath used state-of-the-art technologies and numerical methods to push the boundaries of existing designs, and come up with novel designs for better performance.

Joe is CEO and a co-founder of RadianGEN. He has over 17 years of experience in solar project development, construction, and operations. Joe has held senior management positions at three successful U.S. solar power producers: Renewable Ventures (co-founder), MMA Renewable Ventures, and Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, where he led technical development, construction, and operations. Joe holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, an M.S. in Energy Engineering from Stanford University, and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Management from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Sean McPherson, Director of O&M at Vivint Solar, oversees operations, maintenance and portfolio optimization of Vivint Solar’s residential PV portfolio exceeding 620 MW of operational assets under management across the US. Sean has more than 13 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, and has been involved in wind, solar, and energy storage projects from residential to utility scale.
Sean has over 7 years of residential and small commercial engineering, construction, and O&M experience prior to entering the independent engineering space. Sean consulted on over 2 GW of renewable and energy storage projects in support of project finance with Leidos Engineering. His experience spans the entire spectrum of project development from origination and feasibility phases through to long-term asset management. Sean holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego.

Josh joined the Ecos team in 2018 as our Asset Manager. He is responsible for all post-delivery plant requirements and yield including O&M, performance analytics and reporting, OEM warranty management, ongoing utility and land obligations, and pro-active risk mitigation. Josh also identifyies and manages opportunities to retrofit new technology at existing plants.

Josh joined the solar industry in 2008. He has been a residential and commercial installer, managed residential install operations, built a PV design team for the largest residential home-builder in the country, and managed the Special Projects group at a large EPC. As the manager of the Special Projects group, Josh focused on assessing stranded assets, transitioning systems from 600v to 1000v, inverter retrofits, plant decommissioning, and full system replacements.

Josh is a NABCEP certified PV installer and holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Montana. When not at work Josh enjoys hangin’ with his family, riding bikes, and tinkering.

Aaron Rust has served as the Director of Asset Management for NuGen Capital since 2015. In this role he oversees NuGen's operation and maintenance efforts and quality assurance standards to ensure optimum asset performance across the company's growing renewable energy portfolio. He also oversees new construction efforts, and manages the utility interconnection process. Aaron's previous background in the construction sector informs his attention to detail and hands-on approach to meeting the real-world conditions of optimum renewable energy asset performance.

Shane Easter works to solve climate change in the business world. He currently helps to finance 5-10% of wind and solar energy power plants in the U.S. at Wells Fargo’s Renewable Energy and Environmental Finance group. In his role as Vice President, he (a) originates new solar and wind project finance investment opportunities through relationships with leading renewable energy developers and electric utilities, (b) creates a financial structure that maximizes financial benefits for those clients, and (c) performs thorough financial and legal due diligence into those investments prior to committing capital.
He has won the Wells Fargo Pinnacle award as a top performer at the bank for growing renewables investments.
